

The beloved world of Disney’s Moana sails back into the spotlight as the studio unveils an all-new trailer for its highly anticipated live-action reimagining. Moana has grown into one of Disney’s most cherished modern franchises, with its themes of courage, identity, and adventure. The story continues to resonate across generations, making the live-action version one of the year's most eagerly anticipated cinematic events.

Leading the voyage this time is Catherine Lagaʻaia as the fearless wayfinder Moana, alongside Dwayne Johnson, who reprises his iconic role as the larger-than-life demigod Maui. Adding to the excitement, an “Artistry of Moana” featurette also debuted, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, with insights from Johnson, Lagaʻaia, director Thomas Kail, costume designer Liz McGregor, and choreographer Tiana Nonosina Liufau.
The film further boasts a strong supporting cast, including John Tui as Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Sina, and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala. Directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Beau Flynn, Hiram Garcia, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, the film also features original songs by Miranda, Opetaia Foaʻi, and Mark Mancina, with a score composed by Mancina.
Produced by Walt Disney Studios, Moana is set to release in theatres in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on 10th July, 2026.
