Stepping into a character is always an adventure, but sometimes the costume itself tells half the story. For Ridhima Tiwari, getting into the shoes of a dark, mystical, and demonic character Rakshasi in Sun Neo’s show ‘Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani’ meant embracing a look that was as powerful as it was striking.
While sharing details about her look, she said, “My character is dark and demonic, so naturally, black is the first color that comes to mind. But my look also has a twist — it’s a blend of black, gold, and a touch of rust, which in imagination can symbolize blood, giving it a powerful and mysterious vibe. The outfit is a graceful mix of a dhoti and a short choli, highlighted with striking gold borders and a long veil that adds a strong, royal touch. The heavy gold embellishments — my statement neckpiece, bracelets, and arm amulets — all come together to make the look stand out.”
Ridhima further added, “What makes it even more special is the headgear; I’ve never worn something like this before. It’s challenging to carry it for twelve hours on set, but once I’m in costume, I completely transform into my character. The black nail polish, nose pin, and rustic-golden tones bring that perfect balance of grace and raw power. Personally, I like the fabric of the outfit because it is very breathable, which makes long shooting hours easier. This entire look is something I’ve never carried before, and I truly love it. It’s powerful, different, and perfectly matches the essence of my role.”
